The week
Classes and open mats
Up to several sessions a day, seven days
“Every moment is a fresh beginning.” The academy puts that line over the class list. The programs below are the ones they publish, for every age and for people who already train.
Beginner jiu-jitsu (level 1): Monday through Friday at 5:30am, 12:00pm, and 7:00pm, and Saturday at 9:30am. The room is described as friendly, with coaches who want you learning the movements and getting the work in.
Intermediate (level 2): Monday through Thursday at 7:00pm, Wednesday at 12:00pm, and Monday through Friday at 5:30am. After a few months of basics, the class adds positions from standing and on the ground.
Little Heroes, ages 4–6: Monday through Friday at 4:15pm. Kids, ages 7–12: Monday through Friday at 4:45pm. Teens: Monday through Thursday at 5:45pm. The menu lists teens as 13–17.
Randori: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:00am, Saturday at 11:30am. Open mat: Monday and Friday at 11:00am, Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30pm, Sunday at 10:00am. No-gi sits inside the week for people with two stripes or more.
Mbuna, the kids competition team, meets Saturday at 10:00am, with a Friday 5:15pm practice for anyone trying out. Kickboxing is Monday through Friday at 7:30pm.
A separate intro page posts weekday evenings, and the free-class page also posts a noon hour. Use the Mindbody week for the spot that is actually open.
