Sparring

Randori

Tue, Wed, Thu 11:00am. Saturday 11:30am.

They call randori the sparring hour, a mix of gi and no-gi, and a staple since the academy opened in 2010.

Two lines, six-minute rounds, one minute of rest, for 60 minutes. At the end of a round you line up again and rotate one spot to the right. Be on time. Nails trimmed, no jewelry.

They ask people not to leave early. If you do, there is no re-entry that session. Tapping is expected. They recommend the hour once you have two stripes on a white belt, at least once a week. It is not the same as open mat.
