Since October 2016

Mbuna competition team

Saturday 10:00am. Friday tryout practice at 5:15pm.

Mbuna started in October 2016 from kids who wanted to compete more. What had been called Friday Night Fights became a uniformed team. They wear a black gi, black shorts, and a black rash guard.

The requirement they publish is a charity: each competitor picks an organization and raises pledge money for the result, and the money goes to the charity, not to the athlete. A tryout means eight straight weeks of the Friday 5:15pm Mbuna class. Those practices do not count toward stripes. They also ask competitors to keep at least two regular jiu-jitsu classes a week.

The class list also posts a Saturday 10:00am Mbuna hour. This page does not reprint the roster.
