About the academy

Professor Tony Basile, a father of five, opened 303 Training Center in October 2010. He has said the work is to bring jiu-jitsu to the community he grew up in.

Professor Carlos Gracie Jr. handed him his black belt and his first degree. The academy calls itself a black belt academy and lists Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, wrestling, mixed martial arts, kickboxing, and self-defense.

The homepage describes a clean room with a floating floor, classes for beginners and experienced people, and a schedule meant to cover Arvada, Westminster, and the Denver metro.

They also tell a Rose Namajunas story in their own words: that she prepared here for the fight in which she won the UFC strawweight title against Joanna Jędrzejczyk on November 4, 2017, and that the gym shares the 303 name with the minute that fight ended. That is their account of the room, not a claim added here.

An older about line still says “downtown Westminster.” The address on the homepage, on Google, and on the Mindbody listing is 5757 Olde Wadsworth Blvd, Arvada.
